My kids were in seventh heaven at Round Hill Hotel & Villas. Who am I kidding, so was I! The hotel is a tapestry of rich history. From its early days when the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy and Bob Hope canoodled with family and friends at this private, exclusive haven, to the modern day resort that stands on these perfect principles: timeless elegance, understated luxury and warm Jamaican heart. It’s just good chemistry.
The luxury villas are a great option for families as they come in various sizes and configurations, depending on your family or group size. In fact, one of the villa pools has a window that peeks into a bedroom (for something completely unique). And what’s nice about the villas is that since they are all privately owned, they all look and feel different.
The Pineapple Club is a great place for kids activities, and they offer a full schedule of events each day from glass bottom boat rides to arts and crafts or sports. The resort also has a great network of babysitters and nannies for parents that want to sneak away to the adults only spa, or for just a little relaxation time.
Round Hill got a two thumbs up from my little travel critics (who have seen more in their short lives than many could dream of), and let me tell you, they are tough critics. Before we left, they found the secret swing hidden in the jungle — next time you’re there, let me know if you can spot it.
Lastly, my kids still talk about Clive, who was the resident groundskeeper of our villa. Each morning he would tour them around the house, pointing out flowers and bugs in the garden, and he clearly made an impression on them because they are currently making him presents to mail to Jamaica. I guess it’s that “warm Jamaican heart” that Round Hill stands on that really struck me about this hotel. Why don’t you see for yourself what I’m talking about?
